21 Steps: Walk With Purpose
Dakwon Thomas was a brother, son, and friend whose life continues to mean so much to us. He was 21 years old when we lost him in April 2026. He loved movement and was studying Kinesiology and Health Education.
This walk is hosted by Dakwon’s siblings. It is their way to remember their brother and carry their grief together. As young adults, they also want to reach others their age who may be struggling, to help them find resources, feel supported, and know they do not have to move in silence. We move in community, with hope, and with one another.
On September 26, we’ll walk 2.1 miles in honor of Dakwon’s 21 years. Everyone is welcome to move at their own pace, whether they are remembering someone they love, supporting a friend, or taking a step for their own well-being.
Our goal is to raise $2,100 for Gustavia Pearls Women’s Outreach’s mental health initiative, with a focus on youth. Your gift will help create opportunities for young people to connect, talk about mental health, and find support. Please consider giving $21 in honor of Dakwon’s 21 years, or any amount meaningful to you.
